Baconsthorpe
Baconsthorpe is a small village 3 miles from Holt and 5 miles from Sheringham and the sea.
Baconsthorpe Castle
Baconsthorpe Castle is at the other end of the village, it is a ruined castle with a moat and is a great spot for hide and seek and a picnic.
Holt
Holt is a beautiful Georgian market town packed full of antique shops, boutiques, galleries and coffee shops.
A morning quickly disappears wandering around the shops.

Sheringham
Sheringham has a promenade with beach huts that runs above a beautiful sandy beach. Sea fishing, bike hire, steam railway, Sheringham Museum – The Mo, amusements and fish and chips.
Our Favourite Days Out
- Blickling Hall – home of the Boleyn family and a beautiful Elizabethan house run by the National Trust. Only 15 minutes from Baconsthorpe.
- North Norfolk Railway/Poppy Line – steam train that goes from Sheringham to Holt. 10 minutes to Holt Train Station
- Blakeney – harbour, sailing, canoeing, seal and bird watching trips, crafts and Blakeney Point. Only 20 minutes from Baconsthorpe.

Footpaths and Bridal Path
Baconsthorpe Meadows is on a footpath that is a 10-15 minute walk to Baconsthorpe Castle.
Baconsthorpe Meadows has a bridal path running along side of the campsite which is part of North Norfolk Council’s Circular Route No 31 – Holt to Mannington Walk.
Bicycle Hire
Huff & Puff will deliver hire bicycles to Baconsthorpe Meadows for free. They need to be ordered by 5pm the day before needed. Visit the Huff and Puff Cycles website.
